I’ve been saying that I’m impressed with the twins vocabulary. There are days (like today when Miles correctly labeled an octagon) that they identify and label things I had no idea they knew.
I, too, have a decent vocabulary. Anyone who knows me,though, knows it isn’t always clean.
Monday morning we are driving to daycare. I make a right turn, accelerate and then hear Miles say:
“Dammit.”
Ugh. This one, unlike the time I swear he uttered the f-word when he accidentally turned the TV off, was completely out of context. Great, so not only is my toddler swearing, he’s doing it for no apparent reason. I ignore it hoping it’s a fluke. Soon though:
“Dammit.”
Yup. Mom of the year right here in the front seat. My award is rescinded for all time. I’m just about (silently) curse myself for not watching my more colorful language more closely when Abby says:
“Diamond.”
Wait.
Dammit. Diamond! They are talking about the road work sign! He is saying diamond!
Phew. Mom of the year lives to see another day.

I’ve been out of town for a week, and got back late last night, so Gus was glued to my side today, repeating everything I said. “Oh, ship!” was my personal favorite.

Haha!

LOL! We are pretty sure Abby is swearing when she says “fox,” “sox” and “sprinkles” right now. So, there is that π

A coworker of mine recorded a kid saying “dump truck” once because it sounded exactly like “dumb f*ck”. π

Haha! I’m ashamed to admit my four-year-old has been saying “dammit” for a good year or two now. She started saying it so much that, at the start of 2015, I made it my New Year’s resolution to never curse in front of my kids again. I’ve mostly stuck with that and her use of “dammit” has almost entirely disappeared, which feels like a small victory. But still…definitely not winning any Mom of the Year award here! π

At least it isn’t just me!!

Ha ha!
Ok I got one. As a speech therapist you can appreciate this… So Landon has a lisp and also has difficulty with R’s (which runs in hubby’s family). So the other night, he tells me “no I dont want a shirt” but take out the R in shirt and he pronounced it like ya spell it if you catch my drift!
“No what?” I asked.
And again he said it! Oy!
“No shirt?” I prompted.
“Yeth.” (The lisp)
Oh. Ok.
Ha! The things we moms worry about…

A co worker of mine recorded a kid she was working with saying dump truck, because it sounded like “dumb f*ck”. πππ. That’s hilarious about Landon too!

Brilliant! My twins bounced a word off each other until it became a swear! What started as them happily yelling ‘stickman’ at each other eventually became ‘dickman’. The joys eh?

Hahaha! That’s a great one!

Ha! I love your stories (and that you’re willing to tell them)! So here’s one from our house: Missy also has quite the vocabulary for her age, but her pronunciation is all over the place. She tends to back her initial consonants and, of course, doesn’t have a ‘r’ sound yet, so when she wants to go to the park, she stands at the door yelling “c*ck!” Oh, what our neighbors must think…!

Miles said the same for truck for awhile!
