Phew. We are finally reaching the tail end of this latest developmental leap and I’ll admit I’m glad its almost over. On the plus side, we are back to mostly sleeping through the night (Abby wakes up once about 3 days a week) but now we are going through a “do not put me down and if you do don’t you dare walk away” phase. So weird weather and cruddy upload speeds aren’t the only thing to blame for my lack of posting – they aren’t letting me get much done at all lately.
We are really starting to see some new things though, so obviously the “suffering” isn’t for nothing. Miles is officially crawling – though its Army crawling, and Abby has started clapping. They are both getting better at self feeding and so I am hoping to phase out the puree foods here soon. When they are home with me we have cooked veggies and soft fruit, bread etc that also means I sometimes (read: sometimes) get a chance to put some dishes away! YAY! I can’t totally blame this leap for my lack of productivity either – since they are starting to do so many new things I’m finding myself wanting to be there to watch and play so I don’t miss them!
Both babies are completely out of sleep suits for both bedtime and naps. We have moved onto what I call “baby bags”, aka sleep sacks. Abby is more of the talker and has been babbling b’s, d’s, m’s and n’s for awhile now but mainly sticks with dadadadadadadadada. Miles talks too but just hasn’t been as interested as Abby so far. I can’t remember if I mentioned this before but Abby puts her arms up when I put mine out to pick her up (I think she started this a week or two ago) and both imitate us sometimes – sometimes babbling but mostly raspberries.
