Week FIFTY?!?
When we were trying to get pregnant and I imagined myself as a mom most often I thought about snuggling tiny babies and late night feedings, followed by car pools to dance class and after school activities in a close second. Toddlerhood felt like something of a chaotic mystery. Completely opposite of what I expected, I enjoy them more the closer we get to toddlerhood. They are so interactive both with Bryan and I, and each other. They are starting to talk and really interact and play with things appropriately. Granted, neither one is walking yet, and neither has said “no” or “I hate you” while simultaneously throwing themselves on the floor in the middle of the mall, so the jury is still out on my true opinion of toddlerhood. Still, I think I’ll enjoy it more than I thought.
We officially have two supported standers. By supported I mean they are pulling up to stand but still holding onto something. Miles does so like it is his job, and apparently REALLY enjoys standing and then plopping back into the water during bath time. I have once seen him let go and stand on his own for a couple of seconds. In the bathtub. We are going to need good health insurance on this child.
Lately Abby gets a kick out of offering whatever she is eating to whoever is nearby. She is thisclose to 5 teeth. Her favorite thing this week is to break out of the confines of the family room. (You know, the one with all the toys – and instead crawl to the front of the house to bang on the floor or table.) Miles also enjoys this immensely, and I’ve watched them play a sort of peek a boo together. Miles crawls into the bathroom while Abby waits nearby. When Miles pops his head out they both giggle. They have also started chasing each other which is pretty cute.
Nursing has become more like snack time than mealtime. Bryan has been mixing breast milk and cows milk and has even given them some straight cows milk this week. Abby loves it. Miles, as per usual, is more hesitant. Abby also loves chocolate, but don’t ask me how I know that *cough cough*. The bucket seats kicked the bucket this week as well and both babies seem to enjoy more room in their new, snazzy convertible car seats.
Onto the pictures
- Eat, sleep, poop is more like drink, eat, eat, play, poop, sleep

- We visit our first playground

- Gonna take a free ride!

- Miles looks cool

- And Abby sports a new smile

They are getting so big! I know nothing about toddlerhood (at least from a parent versus babysitter’s perspective), but I’m actually looking forward to this type of interaction. I love watching them grow up! I still remember when you were pregnant…hard to believe that it has been 50 weeks!

Awesome. We just got our new car seats, too, and I’m super excited about them. Not sure the babies really care.

I agree that I love this age way more than I thought I would. Does Abby do well with teething?

Eh. Some nights are rough but she’s not up all night or anything so I’d say not too bad
