This week was one of the more interesting weeks.
Miles is pulling himself up on pretty much everything. If we put him behind a push toy he will take a few wobbly steps. Bryan says he has said “hi” but I haven’t heard it yet. We have the family room gated and he giggles when he escapes. Abby is up to what I think is 5 words: hi, mama, daddy, done and yay (though yay just comes out ahhhh!). She’s still pulling up on her knees or to standing from my knees but has not yet pulled up from the floor to standing. She will also walk a few wobbly steps if I put her behind the push toy. A fourth tooth broke through so she has her two lower central incisors and two upper lateral incisors. If you catch her at the right angle, she looks like a vampire when she smiles. She also giggles when she “escapes” the confines of the family room gate. She has been going through a phase where she is eating less – maybe because she is teething, I am not sure.
We went to a birthday cookout for a friend this week. Bryan and I got to enjoy our first full night out since they were born at our timeshare in Charleston. Unfortunately it rained most of the time, but we still had fun. This week was also Easter but we were boring and did nothing but hang out at home. They aren’t old enough to remember anyway so we didn’t bother with baskets or eggs.
I’m dropping to one pump at work next week. Right now at two I’m only getting about half what they need. Thank goodness for the early days when I had an oversupply and was able to stash some in the freezer. Next week we plan to start mixing in a bit of cows milk in preparation for The Big Wean. I don’t think it’ll be a problem – half the time they aren’t interested anyway.
Birthday invitations have been sent and cake arrangements made. Outfits have been picked out for pictures in two weeks, and new convertible car seats have replaced the buckets. Sigh.
22 days until their birthday.
Onto pictures before I get depressed 🙂
- They protest baby jail

- They root for my home state

- They assure me I will never be alone (ever)

- They express interest in musical instruments

- Mom and dad get a date night

- Miles is ready for the hunt

- And discovers the wonder of toilet paper. Oh Boy.

I know I can’t believe it’s been almost a year! I have to figure out what we’re going to do for ours’ first birthday, too. You are inspiring me.

The little hands pressing on the mesh are sooo cute! I have already noticed a decrease in Tru’s breastmilk intake as well as a disinterest in nursing at all except when he’s pretty much asleep. Its making me so sad!! They just grow too stinking fast!

Mine decreased around the time we started feeding solids consistently, and then again around 9-10 months.
