Happy New Year everyone!
Let’s talk about our exciting New Years Eva celebration with the twins. Are you ready? Bryan and I worked, and then picked the babies up from day care. After that we came home, played a bit, ate dinner and put the babies to bed at 7:30.
I fell asleep on the couch at 9.
I snoozed from 9 until 11:40. I sat up and we turned the channel to watch the ball drop, listened to Anderson Cooper and Kathy Lee Griffin for 20 SUPER ANNOYING minutes, said Happy New Year, and then made bedtime official.
Welcome to lifestyles of the really boring and lame. 🙂
The babies seemed to enjoy the extra day at home with us, though. I unfortunately did not get to ring in new year with a run as I am still sidelined. *sigh*. We spent the day hanging out and then walked around Target, where we proceeded to get several comments about what a handful we have.
Nothing super exciting to share this week, baby wise. Miles is perfecting the pick up and feed myself puffs while Abby masters the “pick up and wave my hands around excitedly but don’t actually feed myself any”. I’m starting to try to incorporate some baby sign into mealtimes because even though they aren’t talking yet they are definitely communicating when I am not feeding them fast enough. Abby cries, Miles goes AAHH! No one is crawling yet but they are still kinda spinning around in circles with the occasional knee lift, arm stretch and grunt. They try a few more foods this week like well cooked carrots and peas, a couple mac and cheese noodles and onion dip (that would be my husband).
I go for a consult for LASIK surgery and am told I am a great candidate! BUT, they won’t do the surgery until two months after I’ve finished breastfeeding because the hormones can make your prescription change. Bummer, but practical.
Pictures, please, you say?
- Miles takes a ride in the laundry basket

- He tries out some new clothes (it was dad this time, not me!)

- That he stole from Abby

- We visit my running buddy Lynnsey, who finds out just how hard it is to get a picture with these two 🙂

- Miles swears he won’t grow up to be a thug

- Abby has a nap with daddy

- We show off baby diaper butt during nakie baby Sunday

- Finally, Miles gets bonked in the head with a ball and finds it hilarious. Hilarious enough for a video….

Haha, nice. We don’t have twins, but two toddlers keep us busy. I can relate!

Your New Years sounded like ours!! Except we didn’t even get up to watch the ball drop. We slept through it. In fact, I made sure to contact friends and family early to say Happy New Year cause I planned on sleeping. Oh how things have changes. But I would have it no other way!

Hey I never knew that about breastfeeding affecting your prescription – I got my eyes tested while I was still BF and they told me I needed to buy new glasses because my sight had improved. Of course that was 6 months ago and I never got around to it because – well hey I have twins and life gets in the way lol
Maybe I’ll go for another test since that’s way cheaper than new glasses I might not actually need!
Oh and if it makes you feel any better I was officially in bed at 9.30 on NYE as I had a stinking cold and was just too plain exhausted to stay up and see in 2014 🙂

Holy crap girl. I cannot get enough of seeing the cutest twins ever! Omg these pics are too adorable! Def work the baby sign in! It helps soooo much down the road. My nephew got really good at making up his own signs for things too. And they usually make complete sense lol! Hopefully you get to run again very soon, but until then I will continue to look forward to many more stories, pics and updates on your awesome babes!

That video of Miles is adorable! I didn’t even try to stay up for New Years… at this point, I will take all the sleep I can get, regardless of what I miss!
